The Florida Five Goldback embodies the virtue “Audax” (Daring), represented by a privateer inspired by legendary figures Anne Bonny and Charlotte de Berry, who defied societal norms with their boldness during the Age of Sail. Florida’s coastline, a haven for pirates and privateers in the 17th and 18th centuries, played a pivotal role in maritime history, with tales of hidden treasures and legendary figures like Blackbeard shaping its adventurous past. The artwork captures this spirit with stormy seas and fierce winds, symbolizing Florida’s resilience in the face of hurricanes, while tools like a compass, lantern, and piece of eight highlight the courage, strategy, and faith required to navigate uncertain waters. From the pirate flag to the turbulent waves, the design celebrates the daring spirit of those who braved Florida’s storied maritime history.
Customer Reviews
"Amazing service and hospitality from the staff at IDC! Jason was so attentive and patient in our search for our ideal watches. He took us through several options, had us try every watch we were interested in, took our information and continued searching for options. A few hours later, we had our watches on hold and ready for pick up! He located a watch that I LOVE, and a unique piece for my husband. We are grateful to have found our new Jeweler for many pieces to come!"
