Each 2021 2 oz Jesus Praying the Garden Biblical Silver Coin comes with impressive packaging courtesy of the Scottsdale Mint. The coins are held within a Bible-themed presentation box that includes a Certificate of Authenticity on the inside with the Bible passage that refers to the design on the reverse of the coins.
The Biblical Series Silver Coins are available from Scottsdale Mint on rimless blanks, enhancing the ancient appearance of the specimens. Each coin also has an antique polish applied that further builds on that ancient appeal for the visuals. The coins also have a unique serial number etched on the edge of the coin.
Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse of 2021 2 oz Jesus Praying in the Garden Biblical Silver Coins. This effigy of Her Majesty is the third-generation design that was used by Britain and throughout various Commonwealth Nations. The design was created in 1985 by Raphael Maklouf and shows an ageless image of the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown.
Jesus is shown praying in the garden of Gethsemane in the reverse design of 2021 Jesus Praying in the Garden Biblical Silver Coins. In this design, Jesus is shown in the background field with his hands at his side and his head raised toward the heavens. In the foreground, the three apostles who accompanied him have fallen asleep.
The story of Jesus praying in the garden appears in all four canonical Gospels. In the timeline of his life, this event occurs just after the Last Supper as Jesus sought to go for a calming walk and pray. He was accompanied by the apostles Peter, John, and James.
