The Essence of Freedom on the Open Road
To own this round is to hold a physical symbol of the American highway. In motorcycle culture, riding is far more than a mode of transportation—it is a visceral experience of pure liberty. Stripped of the isolating steel cage of a traditional vehicle, a rider is fully immersed in the landscape, feeling every shift in wind, the scent of the pine-heavy South Dakota valleys, and the raw pull of gravity through tight canyon turns. On a motorcycle, freedom transforms from an abstract political concept into an absolute physical reality: the instant response of the throttle, the thunderous rumble of a V-Twin engine, and a state of complete, meditative presence where daily anxieties are left entirely in the dust.
Why the Motorcycle is an Iconic American Symbol
The motorcycle stands alongside the eagle and the open frontier as a quintessential emblem of American identity. It represents absolute autonomy, rugged individualism, and the freedom to forge your own path without restriction. The Sturgis Black Hills Rally, which began in 1938, cemented this culture into history. By 1990—the historic 50th-anniversary milestone commemorated on this round—Sturgis had evolved from a small regional race into a global pilgrimage, a temporary civilization dedicated to mechanical mastery and the love of the road.

Customer Reviews
"Amazing service and hospitality from the staff at IDC! Jason was so attentive and patient in our search for our ideal watches. He took us through several options, had us try every watch we were interested in, took our information and continued searching for options. A few hours later, we had our watches on hold and ready for pick up! He located a watch that I LOVE, and a unique piece for my husband. We are grateful to have found our new Jeweler for many pieces to come!"
