The Apache Nation is one of the most historically prominent of the federally recognized tribes in the United States. Comprising several distinct culturally related groups, the Apache people have a deeply rooted history in the Southwest. The Apache groups manage several reservations primarily located within the rugged landscapes of Arizona and New Mexico. Although this coin represents the Apache people of Arizona, the state serves as the heartland for several Apache tribes, including the White Mountain Apache and San Carlos Apache nations, which hold vast ancestral lands in the region.
On the obverse face of each coin you’ll find the image of a lone Apache tribal member, wearing traditional attire and showcasing the enduring spirit of the Apache warriors who masterfully navigated the arid desert terrain.
The reverse side of the coin features the image of one of the most iconic and dangerous predators in North America. The rattlesnake is well known as a strike-ready guardian of the desert, camouflaging itself in the sand and brush, and delivering its lethal warning before striking its prey.
All 2016 1 oz Proof Arizona Apache Rattlesnake Silver coins from the Native American Mint have a satin finish. Difficult to accurately describe, a satin finish is best known by the presence of a mirror-like finish rather than a matte finish.

"Amazing service and hospitality from the staff at IDC! Jason was so attentive and patient in our search for our ideal watches. He took us through several options, had us try every watch we were interested in, took our information and continued searching for options. A few hours later, we had our watches on hold and ready for pick up! He located a watch that I LOVE, and a unique piece for my husband. We are grateful to have found our new Jeweler for many pieces to come!"
