The coin is special for four main reasons:
The Emergency Minting: In April 2020, the West Point Mint was temporarily shut down to protect workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. To keep up with massive market demand, the U.S. Mint authorized the Philadelphia Mint to strike bullion Silver Eagles.
Low Mintage: Because Philadelphia only stepped in for a brief window, they struck just 240,000 of these coins. This makes it one of the absolute lowest-mintage, regular-issue Silver Eagles in the series' history.
Flawless Condition: It has been graded MS-70 by NGC. This means it is certified as being in flawless, perfect condition with no post-production imperfections visible under 5x magnification.
Exclusive Pedigree & Signatures: The label indicates FDOI (First Day of Issue) and confirms it was pulled directly from the First Philadelphia Box. As well as FR (First Releases)
Furthermore, it is hand-signed by John Mercanti, the highly respected 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint and designer of the Silver Eagle's reverse
