The wonderful design of John Mercanti shows an eagle perched on a tree branch. With a high relief quality, this coin shows amazing design depth. The backdrop behind the eagle has a mirror-like quality, as the frosty design of the eagle sits atop it.
The Australian Wedge Tail Eagle Coin series began in 2014. Each coin has featured a unique design from John Mercanti displaying an eagle. These coins also have Mercanti’s signature on the label, making this a one-of-a-kind piece that’s of high quality. The obverse side of the 2016 1 oz Proof Australian Wedge Tail Eagle Silver Coin features the renowned portrait design of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. As a revered leader, the picture of Queen Elizabeth II is featured on the 2016 coin in her honor.
On the reverse side of the 2016 1 oz Proof Australian Wedge Tail Eagle Silver Coin, an eagle sits perched high on a tree branch. It stares off into the distance, as if it’s watching over the land. Along with the image of the eagle, the reverse side also includes an inscription with the face value of the coin.
