The Azure Dragon represents East and Spring. In Chines culture, the dragon rules supreme among all mythical creature. It is the guardian of the heavens and is used by emperors as a symbol of their power and divinity. For example, Emperor Ming of the Wei Kingdom in the Three Kingdoms Period referred to himself as the Azure Dragon.
Symbols of luck and good fortune, the dragon also represents the color green (or green/blue), the virtue of propriety and the element of wood
The Azure Dragon is used frequently as a “door god” at the Taoist temples, used to protect against evil and encourage the entrance of positive influences.
