Building upon its pirate-themed line of 2 oz silver rounds, the The Captain coin provides an all-new design that is a departure from the previous two designs. Round Highlights:
Elemetal Mint has wasted no time in making a name for itself in the silver round marketplace. The now popular Privateer Series of silver rounds all feature .999 fine silver and are struck in ultra-high relief. The first two designs featured pirate ships sailing toward treasure and avoiding the hazards of the Sirens.
In this third release, the infamous The Captain has reached the perfect place to bury his treasure. These ultra-high-relief rounds are produced by striking silver blanks numerous times under immense pressure, giving the design fields a 3D look and feel.
The reverse face of the round depicts the rugged pirate known as The Captain standing on a deserted island, with cutlass and treasure in hand. The open chest at his feet will be the resting place of his treasure, to be recovered later by himself, if he’s lucky.
On the obverse side of the round is the standard design featured on all Privateer Series silver rounds. Mimicking the Jolly Roger imagery, a human skull is set in the center of a ship’s wheel. Above the wheel is the motto of pirates everywhere, “No Prey, No Pay.” Below, the weight, metal content, and purity of the coin are engraved.
Elemetal Mint is a collaborative effort between Provident Metals, NTR Metals, and Ohio Precious Metals. As of July 2015, Ohio Metals rebranded itself as Elemetal Mint, and transitioned its production facility to produce rounds and bars for the new minting operation.
