1969 C3 Corvette
The third generation Corvette, patterned after Chevrolet's "Mako Shark" (designed by Larry Shinoda), ran from 1968 to 1982. The Hot Wheels line of 1/64-scale die cast toy cars was introduced to the public in an unorthodox way in 1968. General Motors had been trying to keep the appearance of their upcoming car a secret, but the release of the Hot Wheels line several weeks before Corvette's unveiling sparked interest among fans. The "Custom Corvette" model was of particular interest, as it was an authorized GM version of the 1968 Corvette.

The 1968 third-generation Corvettes were so successful that the 1969 models only received a few small updates, mostly focused on increasing comfort and safety. The most significant change for the new year was the addition of a small-block engine option. The most obvious change on this model was the addition of the “Stingray” emblem on the sides. Another way to tell a 1968 apart from a 1969 model is by the single-lever handles instead of thumb-operated chrome handles.

About Corvette
The Corvette is a world-renowned car, and GM has been manufacturing it in Bowling Green, Kentucky for over 30 years. The Corvette, referred to as America's sports car, is an impressive example of innovation. Constant creation over 60 years has made the Corvette the world's longest-running passenger car unit. From its start, the Corvette was meant to become an icon.

The Chevrolet Corvette is a two-door luxury sports automobile that has been manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet since 1953. It is known for its overall performance, as well as its special fiberglass or composite panels. Until 2019, the engine was in the front of the vehicle. It has been mid-engine since then.

The Corvette is Chevrolet's halo car and the only two-seat sports car created by a major United States auto manufacturer.

Zora Arkus-Duntov was a Belgian-American engineer referred to as the “Father of Corvette” for his work on the Corvette. The first convertible car was publicly announced in 1953 at the GM Motorama show. Select individuals of the public were able to purchase it later that year.

In 1963, the second-generation Corvette was unveiled as a coupe and convertible. It was originally produced in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri until its production transferred to Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1981 - home also to the National Corvette Museum.

The Corvette has become an icon of America, known conversationally as "America's sports car." Automotive News noted that, after being showcased in the early 1960s TV show Route 66, the Corvette became similar with terms like freedom and adventure. It is now commonly considered to be both the most rewarding concept car ever made and the most favored sports car globally.

Customer Reviews

"Amazing service and hospitality from the staff at IDC! Jason was so attentive and patient in our search for our ideal watches. He took us through several options, had us try every watch we were interested in, took our information and continued searching for options. A few hours later, we had our watches on hold and ready for pick up! He located a watch that I LOVE, and a unique piece for my husband. We are grateful to have found our new Jeweler for many pieces to come!"
