Each 2018 2 oz Jesus Scourged Biblical Silver Coin in this product listing is available inside of a unique display box that mimics the look of the bible. The coins in this collection all come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity that includes a biblical verse reflective of the moment captured on the coin’s design.
The Certificate of Authenticity available with the 2018 Jesus Scourged Biblical Silver Coin comes from John 19:1 which statues “Then Pilate took Jesus and flogged him.” Each coin in this collection has a unique serial number laser-etched on its rim.
On the reverse of the 2018 2 oz Jesus Scourged Biblical Silver Coin is the depiction of Jesus surrounded by a group of Romans and residents of Jerusalem. The men flog Jesus with whips ahead of his trial which ends in a judgment of crucifixion. There is an inscription of the moment captured above the design as “Jesus Scourged.”
The obverse of the Jesus Scourged Biblical Silver Coin features the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is captured here in one of the most ornate designs during her reign. This design was created by Raphael Maklouf in 1985 for the Royal Mint. She wears the royal diadem on her head which is traditionally worn only on the way to and from the State Opening of Parliament.
All of the Biblical Series Silver Coins have a high-relief strike on a rimless blank, lending the sense of ancient coinage to the coins in this collection. Additional touches include the antique polish which helps to accent the intricate details of the design field.
